Infection Sinus and Fungal Infection People with flimsy immune system or prone to fungus allergies are quite vulnerable to fungal sinus infection. When we sinus1get aware of some indicators it gives us the opportunity for some early treatments. So some indicators of fungal sinus infection are as follows:
• Pain in your forehead & some areas around your eyes can also be a sign of sinus infection. You can also experience the pain because of quick sudden movement of your head.

• Devouring the runny nose can lead to a situation like stomach upset or nausea, which in composition is a strong indicator of fungus infection.

• You can also suffer from frequent fever, which can stay for almost five days.

• Nasal congestion is one of the initial indicators of such ailment. In some cases polyp formation can also occur.

• You can feel enervated because of the infection. Reduction in the energy level can be an indicator of such ailment.

• Sometimes this infection can leave some bad impact on your central nervous system as well as on your brain & vision.

• When infection spreads up to your ear you can also experience the ear pain.

• Runny nose with yellow or greenish or bloody colour can also be a sign of the infection.

• Developing degenerate sensation of taste because of a blocked nose as well as throat (because of mucus) is quite a reasonable sign of infection.

People don't usually think of the possibility they might have a fungal sinus infection when they're suffering from a sinus problem. More often than not infections of the sinuses are blamed on bacteria and antibiotics are prescribed, when in fact the antibiotics will not work because the sinuses are infected by fungi not bacteria. And antibiotics will do nothing to help a fungal infection and in fact may make it worse.

It's thought that the long-term widespread use of antibiotics, especially broad spectrum antibiotics, has led to fungal overgrowth in the nose and sinuses. Of importance also is the use of these antibiotics in plants and livestock and then the subsequent eating of meat.

This may have led to decreased immunity in people who were otherwise healthy. This number has been gradually increasing over the last few years.

There have been many sinus infection studies including a study done at the Mayo Clinic that shows that fungi were found in the sinuses of healthy people who did not have sinus infections as well as about 96% of people who had chronic sinusitis.

These are a few reasons that more attention has been focused on fungi as a cause of sinus infections and other types of sinusitis. Most infections of the sinuses are thought now to be caused by a fungus rather than bacteria. It's easy to see why when the indoor air in our households and in our work environment is loaded with fungi and many other types of common molds - mold is just another word for fungus.

The symptoms of a fungal sinus infection are the same as those you might encounter with a bacterial infection. The usual yellow discharge or mucus, congestion, runny or blocked nasal passages, lump in throat, slight sore throat and the many other possible symptoms.

But beware the more serious symptoms and complications, which are listed below. Hopefully you don't ever progress to the point that you experience those but those symptoms should be considered with chronic sinus infections.

Some serious symptoms of fungal sinus infection or fungal sinus disease as it is sometimes called are nasal congestion and obstruction, blurred vision and other visual disturbances, facial pain, neurological problems, headaches, odors that others don't smell, bulging of the eyeball or protrusion as it is called, seizures and sensorial disturbances, which can affect consciousness and intellectual function. Make sure to take care of any sinus infection that arises quickly with natural home treatment and not try to use antibiotics for a fungal infection. It just won't work and will delay the progress.
